WHAT IS ...... LETING GO? WHAT TO LET GO OF AND HOW TO DO IT!!

LETTING GO is the opposite of HOLDING ON!! If you learn to LET GO, then it will make you..OPEN, RECEPTIVE,FREE AND FLEXIBLE!! That s how you will feel in a PHYSICAL sense but it is also how you will feel in a PSYCHOLOGICAL sense, in , say PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, and SELF IMPROVEMENT.

When we HOLD ON to issues, then we are contracted, closed, inaccessible,locked and inflexible. When we hold on to something, then we are using up our ENERGY and ATTENTION. The things we can do BESIDES holding on are actually quite limited!! This is true both PHYSICALLY (when we hold onto somethig with our hand) and MENTALLY .. when we hold on emotionally or in some other way.. it might be an unpleasant feeling or thought, some expectation or some LIMITING BELIEF!!

HOLDING ON is TIRING.. it is inflexible and pretty soon being so tensed up becomes unpleasant!!

LETTING GO however...is RELAXING!! When we LET GO then we stop usng energy. We can make decisions!! LETTING GO allows everyting to be the way it IS.. allowing ourselves to be the way we ARE!!


SOO .. WHAT IS LETTING GO?


Try grabbing something with your hand..anything that will not break when you hold onto it or let go of it.. it mIght be a pen, your keys, an apple or your clothes.. Hold onto it.. Hold it really TIGHTLY.. Can you feel how your hand is CONTRACTING.. how much ENERGY you are using.. How your ATTENTION is PREOCCUPIED with the thing you are holding on to and with holding on in itself.. You COULD do other things while you are holding on, you could probably cook a meal if you really wanted to but you could not be able to fully use both hands and neither would you be able to use a 100 percent of your attention on cooking because if you did, you would automatically let go!! When you are HOLDING ON, you are locked and limited!


NOW.. try letting go of the thing you are holding onto... Having let go.. please consider..What did you do to let go... Not very much !! what you did actually was just THIS...you DECIDED to let go .. in other words you CHOSE to LET GO and then you RELAXED!! THIS IS WHAT LETTING GO IS!!

When you ve let go, you have actually reverted to your NATURAL STATE OF BEING!.. This is what it feels like to be YOU when you are not exerting yourself!!

Apart from surviving physically, what is it that we really WANT in life it s not really about the money, social status or material things.. No in actual fact it is much SIMPLER than that. What we REALLY want is this..A PLEASANT FEELING INSIDE!!

THAT S IT.. it is as simple as that. We want to feel GOOD .. We want to feel HAPPY. In other words, we want SECURITY, JOY, INNER PEACE or FEELING WHOLE AND COMPLETE. LETTING GO is the quickest and most direct way HOME to that state!!

WHAT YOU CAN LET GO OF!

You can let go of ANYTHNG that you are HOLDING ON TO!! Everything that you are using ENERGY
and ATTENTION on. Everything that has you LOCKED DOWN or is LIMITING you!! This includes,
THOUGHTS, BELIEFS, FEELINGS, HABITS,NEEDS and MORE..

Do you have a bad habit? Maybe you eat too much chocolate, maybe you smoke, maybe you feel you talk too much!! WEll you can LET GO of that habit.

Do you hold a GRUDGE or feel ASHAMED about something that happened years ago.. Maybe you were hurt or you hurt somebody..Well you can LET GO of these feelings.

Are you afraid of HEIGHTS, WATER, OR SPIDERS? Or are you afraid of not having enough money, love or security? You can let go of those fears and that mistrust!


SOOO.. go on..ANYTHING THAT YOU HAVE PICKED UP AND WHICH IS NOW LIMITING YOU....LET GO OF IT!!

HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN IT IS TIME TO LET GO?

In one sentence.... When you feel any kind of unpleasantness or discomfort. You can definitely consider unpleasantness or discomfort a clear sign that it is time to LET GO!!

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU LET GO?

You will free yourself.. You stop feeling locked down You stop using energy and attention.. You will RELAX. You get back to being YOU. You will feel more whole, happy, loving and at PEACE because these feelings ARE your NATURAL state of being.

LETTING GO IS VERY VERY ATTRACTIVE!!!

WILL YOU LOSE WHAT YOU ARE HOLDING ON TO??

NO!! It is a very common fear though! Letting go and losing something are two completely different things.. They have nothing to do with each other!

What actually happens is quite the opposite...when you let go of something you become FREE to CHOOSE..At any time you can still CHOOSE the thing you were holding onto!!

Lets say that you are holding onto an old grudge and because of this grudge, you have a strong feeling of dislike towards another person.. Even if you let go of your grudge and stop disliking that other person, you can still start disliking them again ANY TIME YOU CHOOSE!! But you no longer HAVE to dislike the other person or let them bug you... you have LOST nothing but you have GAINED your FREEDOM!!


sooo... Feel Free to Let Go of Anything!! You can basically let go of anything that LIMITS YOU from being YOU!! Things that don t LIMIT you.. you cannot let go of!! If you can let go of it, then you dont really need it!!


Next time we will look at how to let go in practice...

soo until then....FEEL FREE TO LET GO OF ANYTHING!!! YOU CANNOT GO WRONG!!
